I don’t know if you can see it but one bar is bent or warped in the middle. It came like this and I’m not one to complain. Still does the job. Just wish it wasn’t bent.

Perfect for my yakitori grill and a lot easier to clean than a grate.

Very well made and well thought out.
Not only a great yakitori grill, but is great for meat, chicken and especially fish.
Super easy to clean.
Could not be happier.

These grill rods were worth it. At first I was skeptical but they are needed in order to use the paddle style skewers seen in my video. The rods were sturdy and strong. I would definitely recommend that everyone buy this to use with their Yak grill.

Work as intended
A little pricey for what they are, but I wanted them, so I got them and they work perfectly as you can adjust for different size skewers. If you are planning on doing yakitori the right way, get them.

A “Must Have” accessory
If you are going to make yakitori, then you need these grill rods to lay your skewers on. The YAK Grill comes with a grill grate which can be used to lay your skewers on but to get the authentic cooking experience making yakitori, you should remove the grill grate and just use these rods. The grill grate can cause your yakitori to stick to it when you apply the “tare” but when using the rods, it won’t happen. I only use the grills rods for my yakitori. I use the grill grate for other uses like making yaki-onigiri.

yak grills with binchotan
The depth of the grill is perfect for binchotan to keep even temperature. Bought the two steel bars for Yakitori worked really good. I am happy so far for the experience.

Exactly what you need to make yakitori at home
One of the main reason I got the Yak Grill is so I can make traditional yakitori at home. I've made yakitori several time in the past and have either cooked it on my gas grill on an electric grill. The meat will usually end up dry or burnt as it is making direct contact with the metal grill. The tare sauce will also burn due to pooling. With the Yak Grill and rods, I can better control the cook and the yakitori ends up, crispy, juicy, and with a hint of smoke just like how you'd get them at a yakitori shop in Japan.

Necessary for real yakitori
Utilizing the rods to maneuver your chicken quickly from flare ups when using binchotan is key. Heavy gauge steel rods, essentially indestructible. I would call this a necessity as opposed to an optional accessory.

Must have when you want to level up your Yakitori game!
Because I mainly use this grill to cook Yakitori, I enjoy using these rods. By using these rods, the meat is not resting on a surface but rather floating above the heat source, resulting in really fluffy and juicy Yakitori.
Not just for cooking chicken. The grill and rods can be used for beef, pork, seafood, and veggie skewers. Definitely recommend if you want to level up your Yakitori game!
